Fishing in Alaska is like a kid in a candy shop with instructions to pick just one piece. You could be there for a very long time and if you are unfamiliar with Alaska fishing you could be that kid with too many choices and not much time. Many seasons traveling throughout Alaska has taught me a great deal about those choices and how to get on the water as opposed to perusing maps and books in a decision making process that can overwhelm the newcomer to this fast and furious season of angling oppurtunities. One of the best ways is to ask the locals just as I did one day a few summers ago while staying at GIGGLEWOOD INN.
I tied the flies for this particular trip at the GIGGLEWOOD INN, owned and operated by two of the nicest people you ever want to meet. Larry and Linda run GIGGLEWOOD INN with style. Cozy lodging, beautiful view and friendly conversation is just the beginning.
The comfortable atmosphere at GIGGLEWOOD INN is unprecedented and the flapjacks and sausage, with a toasty cup of coffee, is the perfect way to start your day. Whether enjoying the wildlife and bird watching oppurtunities or chasing the many species of salmon and trout that roam these waters, GIGGLEWOOD INN is situated smack in the middle of it all.
One evening proved to be superb with many Grayling rising to take the Mosquito Emerger as it slowly drifted into the pools of Goose Creek. Linda suggested the peaceful creek without hesitation and it proved to be just what I was looking for. So whether you come to Alaska for the fishing the wildlife or just to relax, why not give Linda and Larry a call and book a stay.
